O miejscu
The only sandstone caves in northern Poland. A natural monument tucked away in the forest near Puck — an excursion for the geology-minded.
The Mechowskie Groty caves in Mechowo near Puck are the only sandstone caves in northern Poland. They were formed as water washed sand from a glacial moraine hill, and are protected today as a natural monument. A small but fascinating site hidden in the forest, reached by a woodland path. Nearby stands the historic 18th-century Church of St Leonard. A remarkable place for lovers of geology and quiet excursions well off the mass-tourism trail.
